The UdeM Department of Anthropology is the only one in Quebec to cover all 4 sub-disciplines of anthropology, i.e. biological anthropology, ethnology, linguistic anthropology and archaeology. It boasts a long tradition of excellence in these fields.

The Department's collections (in French), comprising over 3,750 objects, represent an asset for students, giving them a chance to handle and gain analysis training with archaeological artifacts, casts of hominid bones, faunal remains, and the material culture of different populations.
